GENA ETTINGER

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Gena is a Board Certified Physician Assistant licensed to practice medicine as part of Dr. Cox’s team. Her surgical assistant experience includes first assist in the OR and with the DaVinci Robot, and she has specialized training and experience with General Surgery and Emergency Medicine. She began her career in health care in 2001 as an office assistant for a family practice clinic in Gainesville, Texas where she realized her true calling and passion for patient care.

Over the past years Gena has dedicated her time to public service. She has worked as a medical assistant at a pain & wellness clinic, volunteered to provide care to under served children at the H.E.A.L.ing Clinic and served as a part of a pediatric intensive care team at Children’s National Medical Center. In 2012 she graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, DC with a Master of Science, Physician Assistant Degree and moved back to Texas to begin her career as a PA in General Surgery.

Gena and her husband, Mark Ettinger, an Anesthesiologist, have two sons and a daughter. During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, reading and spending time with family.
